Bruce Lee was born on november 1940 which is the year of the dragon and he was born in San Francisco but shortly after was brought to Hong Kong .He was the son of Lee Hoi Chuen. At a young age he started his movie career . He was inspired to take up martial arts because he had been beaten up. Bruce lee`s sifu was Yip Man who schools Bruce in Wing Chun Kung Fu for a period of approximately five years. Bruce also took up Cha Cha dancing. At the end of age 18 Bruce won a major dance championship in Hong Kong. Bruce`s hot temper and quick fists saw him fall foul of the HK police on numerous occasions, and bruce`s parents suggested he head off to the United States where later he would meet his future wife Linda Emery. When Lee landed in San Francisco`s Chinatown in 1959 he worked at a relatives restaurant and later he made his way to Seattle, Washington Where he enrolled at a university to study philosophy and also found time to practice his beloved Kung Fu techniques.
He then met his future wife Linda Emery. Bruce also opened a Kung Fu school 4750 University Way. Bruce attended many martial arts tournaments. Through one of these tournaments he was recognized by T.V producer William Dozer who was looking for an oriental actor to play the part of Kato on his new T.V series called "The Green Hornet" and Bruce was the one to play Kato. Bruce also came up with a show called "Kung Fu"but was rejected the starring role because he was Chinese and the starring role was given to David Carradine a Caucasian. Then Bruce came back to Hong Kong and starred in his first movie "The Big Boss" which in America was renamed "Fists of Fury" and it broke box office records. Then he made "Fist of Fury" which in America was renamed "The Chinese Connection" and it broke the box office records that he had already set with his first movie. Then production on "The Way of The Dragon" which in America was renamed "Return of The Dragon" was under way and it broke the box office records that he had already set with his first two movies Bruce also wrote, directed, and starred in"The Way of The Dragon".Then when he was on a trip to India the pagoda`s inspired him to come up with the movie "The Game of Death" which was about a retired martial artist (Lee) who would fight his way through five levels of a pagoda which were each guarded by a different martial artist to retrieve a treasure at the very top.
But during the filming of "The Game of Death" Warner Bros asked Bruce if he wanted to star in the main role of the movie "Enter The Dragon" he agreed. Shortly after Bruce finished "Enter The Dragon" on July 20, 1973 bruce died of a cerebral brain edema which is swelling of the brain."Enter The Dragon"is considered to some to be the best martial arts movie ever made. Bruce never finished "The Game of Death".But in 1978 Warner Bros and Golden Harvest hired two double`s that looked like bruce to finish the movie but since they only used 11 minutes and 7 seconds of the original 40 minute footage that they had the movie was not that great and they also changed the storyline but warner bros released a documentary about bruce lee`s original script for "The Game of Death" which is called "Bruce Lee A Warrior`s Journey" the documentary also includes all of the original "The Game of Death" footage which is 40 minutes long. Bruce Lee`s martial art Jeet Kune Do is an art which combines Wing Chun,Western Boxing, and fencing Jeet Kune Do`s creed is "using no way as way having no limitation as limitation". Jeet Kune Do is a kind of Chinese martial art that does away with the distinction of branches, an art that rejects formality, and an art that is liberated from the tradition with Jeet Kune Do Bruce did not believe in styles because Bruce thought that you shouldn`t be limited to one martial art . Bruce Lee is a legend of the martial arts and his legacy will always live on.

Bruce Lee tragically died in the midst of filming " The Game of Death ". Five years after his death Warner Bros hired two doubles to fill in for what Bruce had not finished. However they did not keep Bruce Lee`s original plot. The original plot for " The Game of death " as Bruce Lee intended it to be was about a retired martial artist who is hired to fight his way through five levels of a pagoda to retrieve a treasure at the very top. But the plot that Warner bros made was about Billy Lo ( Lee ) who is movie star who gets jumped and hospitalized and pretends he is dead and takes his revenge. If you ask me I like Bruce Lee`s original intended plot better than the one that Jan Spears and Warner bros wrote. But in 2000 Warner Bros released Bruce Lee : A Warriors Journey which is a documentary on "The Game of Death" It has all of the original footage which is 40 mins.
These are some of Bruce Lee`s original script notes for " The Game of Death".
This scene from "The Game of Death " was lost in the ravages of time. In this scene Chei Yun goes ahead of Lee to battle in The Hall of The Tiger ( the third level of the pagoda ) Chei Yun seems to be using a large heavy club but is quickly disarmed.
